We’re going to be taking a look at predictions for the 2024 season, this time we’ll focus on pitchers. Using MLB Stats once again, let's take another look at those numbers.

At the top with the most strikeouts of 2023 is the Braves, Spencer Strider with 281K. Strider is one of the most elite strikeout pitchers in the MLB. The dominant Braves' pitcher is expected to top the Majors in strikeouts, wins, and ERA. If that happens, he would become the first pitcher to secure the Triple Crown in a complete season since 2011's Clayton Kershaw (NL) and Justin Verlander (AL). 

Blake Snell, the free agent lefty, won the 2023 National League Cy Young Award after having one of the most unexpectedly dominant and statistically crazy seasons of any pitcher in MLB history. Snell was one of the top pitchers in the game, but he also led the Majors with a 2.25 ERA, a .181 opponents' batting average, and 234 strikeouts in 180 innings.  In addition, Snell led the MLB in walks with 99, almost making history as the first pitcher to walk 100 or more in a season since 2012. There is no denying that Snell had a very successful season last year as a pitcher. The real uncertainties are about Snell's ability and his performance in the approaching season.

Everyone is interested in seeing what Yoshinobu Yamamoto can accomplish in the major leagues, and if predictions come true, the response will be "great stuff."  In his debut MLB season, the Dodgers' new ace is expected to record 200 strikeouts, much like Kodai Senga did for the Mets the previous year, when he was declared the team's instant Cy Young favorite. Yamamoto is expected to lead the Dodgers staff in innings pitched and strikeouts, making him the ace that Los Angeles was hoping for when they signed the highly sought-after right-hander from Japan. Yamamoto is one of 14 pitchers predicted to record 200 or more strikeouts in 2024.

With so many outstanding pitchers, this season is going to be the one you want to watch.
