On the offensive side, Santana had the third-most home runs among AL first basemen with 23 and the fourth-most RBI with 71. As a free agent, Santana will be returning to Cleveland to play for the Guardians, a team he played for during 10 years of his career, where he made his All-Star appearance and won a Silver Slugger.
9. Yandy Díaz
2024 Stats: .281/.341/.414, 14 HR, 65 RBI (145 G)
2024 Accolades: N/A
In 2024, Yandy Díaz was coming off the best season of his career, during which he won the AL batting title with a .330 batting average and placed sixth in the AL MVP race. Although his numbers dipped in 2024, it's understandable given the challenge of repeating such an eye-turning 2023 season. Díaz still performed well in 2024, maintaining a .281 batting average, which was the second highest among AL first basemen, as well as hitting the second-most doubles among AL first basemen with 31.
8. Luis Arráez
2024 Stats: .314/.346/.392, 4 HR, 46 RBI (150 G)

Luis Arráez achieved his fifth season batting over .310 out of six seasons in the majors. In 637 at-bats in 2024, he struck out just 29 times, resulting in a strikeout rate of 4.3%, which is 5.1% lower than the next closest player (Steven Kwan). Arráez also achieved 200 hits in the season, the second most in the majors, and posted a .314 batting average, the highest in the NL. Winning the NL Batting Title for the third straight year, Arráez has arguably become the best contact hitter in the league.
7. Pete Alonso
2024 Stats: .240/.329/.459, 34 HR, 88 RBI (162 G)
2024 Accolades: All-Star Reserve, Silver Slugger Finalist
Playing in all 162 games for the first time in his career, Pete Alonso earned his third consecutive All-Star appearance and led all first basemen with 34 home runs, earning himself a finalist spot for the Silver Slugger Award. In the postseason, Alonso made noise. He slashed .273/.431/.568, with four of his 12 hits being home runs, including a game-winning three-run home run in the ninth inning of Game 3 of the NL Wild Card. Yet to sign with a team, Alonso provides a power bat wherever he lands.
6. Christian Walker
2024 Stats: .251/.335/.468, 26 HR, 84 RBI (130 G)
2024 Accolades: Gold Glove Winner
Winning his third straight Gold Glove, Christian Walker has established himself as one of the best defensive first basemen in the majors. His .998 fielding percentage was the highest among all first basemen and tied for the second highest in MLB (Michael Siani at 1.000). Offensively, Walker slashed .251/.335/.468 with 26 home runs and 84 RBI. Being traded to the Houston Astros in December, Walker is set to bring a strong presence to Space City.
5. Josh Naylor

2024 Accolades: All-Star Reserve, Silver Slugger Finalist
Coming off a season leading all first basemen with 108 RBI and hitting 31 home runs — the second-most among first basemen — Naylor earned his first All-Star selection. Among AL first basemen, he held the second-highest slugging percentage (.456) and OPS (.776). In December, Naylor was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks to fill the void left by the departures of Christian Walker and Josh Bell. Moving to the West Coast, Arizona looks forward to similar production in the desert.
4. Matt Olson
2024 Stats: .247/.333/.457, 29 HR, 98 RBI (162 G)
2024 Accolades: Gold Glove Finalist
Matt Olson has been one of the most reliable players in the majors, playing in all 162 games for the third consecutive season. While his numbers didn't quite reach the heights of his 2023 season, where he placed fourth in the NL MVP voting, he still put together solid all-around performances. Olson finished as a finalist for the NL Gold Glove — leading the MLB in putouts — while also hitting 29 home runs and driving in an NL first baseman-leading 98 runs. His 67 extra-base hits were the third most among all first basemen.
3. Bryce Harper

His offensive prowess is evident, as he led all NL first basemen with a .525 slugging percentage, a .898 on-base plus slugging and 72 extra-base hits. His ability to get on base is also noteworthy, with a .285 batting average and .373 on-base percentage that both ranking second among NL first basemen. Harper is the only first baseman in 2024 to start in the All-Star game, as well as be a finalist for both the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove Awards.

2024 Accolades: All-Star Reserve, NL Silver Slugger Finalist
Leading all NL first basemen with a .378 on-base percentage, Freddie Freeman has one of the best eyes not at just the position, but in the MLB. With a .476 slugging percentage and an .898 OPS, Freeman ranks second among NL first basemen in both categories. His 89 RBI place him second as well. In the 2024 postseason, Freeman cemented his name as arguably one of the best runs in postseason history, setting a record with six consecutive World Series games with a home run, a streak started dating back to his time with the Braves in 2021. In the 2024 World Series, he batted .300 with four home runs and 12 RBI, leading the Dodgers to a World Series championship and earning himself the World Series MVP.
1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
