The Milwaukee Brewers have struggled heavily out of the gate in 2025, a stark contrast to their dominant 2024 campaign, where they captured the NL Central crown for the second straight year and the third time in four seasons.
After dropping their first four games of the season, Milwaukee sits at the bottom of the division, already trailing the first-place St. Louis Cardinals by three games. Though the season is still young and the Brewers possess a strong roster on paper, their dismal start has raised concerns among fans and within the organization.
In their first four games, Milwaukee has been outscored 47-15, with two double-digit losses — 20-9 and 11-1 — and another just shy at 12-3. While there's plenty of time for a turnaround, the sting of an 0-4 stretch — something they never experienced in 2024 — is difficult to overlook. To defend their NL Central title, the Brewers will need to rebound quickly to avoid being buried so early in the season. The clock isn’t ticking yet, but the pressure is mounting.
There’s reason for cautious optimism, however. In 2011 — a season in which Milwaukee won 96 games, claimed the division title, and reached the National League Championship Series — they also began the year with an 0-4 record. Perhaps history can offer hope for a team looking to right the ship.
